But first, let talk a little about our history.
It was 1936, with an operating budget of $6.00, Adelaide Phillips opened a small flower stand on a lot she purchased along highway 101 in Encinitas, California. Flowers by Adelaide was born and it was a single person operation until in 1945 she and her son, Harry, built a structure that was to become a full service custom flower shop in La Jolla. It was Adelaide's love of flowers and a strong will to succeed in business that blossomed into a passion that would cover three generations until they sold the company to the Newell family in December of 2010.
Jerry Parent and Larry Anhorn finalized the purchase of the company in 2016, but have lead the design direction and management for the company since 2011.
Adelaide’s entered its 85th year of servicing La Jolla and San Diego in 2021 with the finest in floral designs, plants, giftware and events.
On September 13, 2021, Adelaide's moved from its current location at 7766 Girard Avenue in La Jolla to 919 Silverado St.
